It's been almost one and a half years since we've moved to the East Coast. I usually visit NYC but haven't had a chance to visit any other cities around the East Coast. One thing is certain that the East Coast is beautiful in Summer. It's easy to travel from city to city. During the warm weather season, everyone is enjoying the sun. Seeing people getting ice coffee or enjoying their meal outside feels like living in Europe again. So we decided to visit cities close by. Last weekend we picked Philadelphia.
Here is the list you can do in a one day in Philly:
1- Museum of Art: It is a beautiful museum to see. I personally like modern art but this museum was a combination of everything which was so interesting. If you are asking my opinion, my favorite exhibition was the Japanese tea room. Link For museum http://www.philamuseum.org/
2-Love Park: After the Museum you can walk to the love park. it will take you about 20min. Temporarily removed for renovation, so we visited another close by park. oh well maybe next time. Link http://www.visitphilly.com/music-art/philadelphia/love-statue/
3- Reading terminal market: One of the cool places to visit. It's an indoor farmer's market since 1892. If you are a foodie you definitelty put this on top of your travel list.
4- Magic Garden: One of my favorites spot was the magic garden. It's a non profit organization folk art environment. Largest work created by mosaic artist Isaiah Zagar. It is really worth visiting. link for ticket https://www.phillymagicgardens.org/ Buy your ticket in advance, because they sell out quick.
5- Old City: This neighborhood is the most historical street in Philadelphia and maybe the United States. This houses are owned by business owners and date back to the early days of America. You can Enjoy the pubs, restaurants and Boutiques. Link :http://www.oldcitydistrict.org/
